Harry “Bucky” E. Spaulding, 79, of Rock Island, passed away Monday September 14, 2020 at home.
Private family live-streamed service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 18, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, with online access at www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, at the funeral home. In accordance with public gathering guidelines, capacity limitations of 50 persons will be monitored, masks are required inside the funeral home, and social distancing is to be observed by those attending.
Harry was born November 13, 1940 in Rock Island, one of twelve children born to of William R.B. and Mabel Scarbrough Spaulding. He married Shirley A. McIntire on November 21, 1959 in Rock Island.
Bucky retired from Tri-City Heat Treat after many years of service. He also had worked for the former Montgomery Elevator and Caterpillar.
He was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. Bucky enjoyed bowling in mixed leagues and men’s leagues at Central Bowling Alley, Bowladrome, and Milan Lanes. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching westerns.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley, of Rock Island; children, Donna (Richard) Goetzl, Milan, Harry (Jennifer) Spaulding II, Davenport, Michael Spaulding, Rock Island, Kristina (Brian) Congdon, Cape Coral, Fla., and Tony Spaulding, Milan; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and eleven brothers and sisters.
