Harry "Hal" Loucks Obituary

Harry “Hal” A. Loucks, 76, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.  Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday, July 26, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island.  Visitation will be Monday from 12 – 1 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be presented.  Memorials may be made in care of the Alzheimer’s Association or the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Hal was born in Troy, New York on August 10, 1944, a son of Edward J. and Helen A. Hughes Loucks.  He graduated from Lansingburgh High School in New York.  Hal joined the U.S. Air Force following high school.  He served from 1962 – 1966. 

Hal married Sylvia Finch on November 5, 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Hal worked in finance for the banking industry the majority of his career.  In his later years, he spent time working in sales for a variety of organizations.

Hal enjoyed bowling, telling jokes and traveling.  He was an avid NASCAR, Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sylvia Loucks, Rock Island; children, Chad (Tia) Loucks and Jodi (Dave) Lubkeman; step-children, Jody (Dennis) Martin, Rick (Laurie) Finch and Kim (Bill) Crandall; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; brother, E. John Loucks; and sister, Alicia Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, George and Robert Loucks and sisters, Dorothy Litherland, Dema Martin and Polly Lyons.
