James E. “Eddie” Sullivan, Jr., 68, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.  Memorial visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Beginnings Pet Rescue at https://www.nbprqc.org/.

Eddie was born February 17, 1952 in Moline, a son of James E., Sr. and Gladys (Lair) Sullivan.  He married Ann A. Albrecht on September 14, 1981 at Church of Peace – United Church of Christ, Rock Island.  He worked as a welder at John Deere for over 30 years, retiring in 2005.  Eddie was very meticulous and gifted at working with his hands.  He was proficient at all remodeling and maintenance tasks from construction to auto body repair.  He remodeled his home in the Broadway district, keeping the construction methods as true to original form as possible.  He loved spending time with his family and was passionate about motorcycles, especially his Moto Guzzi.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ann; daughter, Stephanie (Mike) Carroll, Colorado; grandchildren, Heather and Hayden Carroll; siblings, James (Barbara) Chance, Michigan, Sandra Brown and Linda (Mike) Johnson, Moline and Francis Sullivan, Pennsylvania.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William L. (Pat) Chance.
