JoAnn L. Sherrod, 89, of Moline, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Heritage Woods of Moline. Services for Mrs. Sherrod will be 11 am, Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 9 am. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association or UnityPoint Hospice.

JoAnn was born on April 25, 1936, in East Moline, a daughter of John Ponce Sr. and Yvonne (Vroman) Ponce. She married Billy Sherrod on October 30, 1954, in East Moline. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2018. JoAnn worked as a meat wrapper at Eagle Food Stores for 41 years before her retirement. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. JoAnn enjoyed going to the casinos and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Terri (Mark) Henry, Erie, and Sandra (Carl) Horton, Carbon Cliff; a daughter in law, Lisa (Jim) Sherrod-Coleman, Rock Island; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty (Delbert) Carr, Pass Christian, MS.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy; a son, Dennis A. Sherrod; her siblings, Albert Ponce, John Ponce Jr., and Delores Collis.
