Obituary
B. Joan DeSchepper, 87, of Streator, formerly of Moline, passed away Tuesday February 7, 2023 at her daughter’s home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Monday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to St. Ambrose Church, Milan Food Bank or QC Animal Welfare Center. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is assisting the family.
Joan was born on October 23, 1935 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of James and Anita (Ausmus) Douglas. She married Joseph Vincent DeSchepper on October 30, 1954 in Milan.
Mrs. DeSchepper had worked as a clerk with the Rock Island Arsenal for 10 years and later with Health and Human Services for 14 years.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan and active with the Blue Cross Mission at St. Ambrose Church. Joan loved spending time with her family and friends, reading and sewing.
Survivors include her children and spouses, Mark "Audrey" DeSchepper, Bob "Jody" DeSchepper, Chuck "Karen" DeSchepper, Beth "Matt" Marti; daughter in law, Donna DeSchepper; 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; son, Joseph DeSchepper III; daughter, Kathleen DeSchepper; grandchildren, Carrie Ann, Guy and Helen; siblings, James Douglas Jr., Barbara Douglas, Judy Carlson and Craig Douglas.
