Jose Hernandez Cabrera

  Jose Hernandez Cabrera, 83, of Rock Island passed away Thursday May 
31, 2018 in Rock Island.
  In accordance with his wishes, funeral services and burial will be in 
Mexico at a later date. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock 
Island, is assisting the family with arrangements.
  Jose was born September 28, 1934 in San Antonio Carupo, Michoacán, 
Mexico, a son of Luis and Concepsion Cabrera Hernandez. He married Luisa 
Rodriguez on January 1, 1960 in San Antonio Carupo, Michoacán.
  He was a farmer in Mexico for many years. Jose loved to play guitar 
and sing with a Mariachi Band. He also enjoyed playing baseball and basketball.
  Surviving are his wife, Luisa, of Rock Island; children, Concepsion, 
of Calif., Jovita, Rock Island, Evangelina, Calif., Gloria, Mauricio and 
Jose, all of Rock Island; seventeen grandchildren; four great 
grandchildren; brothers, Florentino, Rafael, and Aurelio, all of Calif.; 
and numerous nieces, nephews, and additional family.
  Jose was preceded in death by his parents; son, Silvestre; sister, 
Trina; and brothers, Miguel, Luis and Salvador.
