Joyce Elaine Davis, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 29, 2021, at her home near Milan, IL.
On January 14, 1940, George and Arlene (Krahl) Hoffman welcomed their first born twin girls in the middle of a major snowstorm. Joyce and her sister Joanne brought great joy to their parents in spite of the weather.
Joyce was a 1958 graduate of Sherrard High School and later married her highschool sweetheart, Mardyne Davis, on April 5, 1959. He later passed away December 25, 2018. Joyce and Mardyne became the parents to three children and Joyce thoroughly enjoyed her role as Mother and later Grandmother. She is well known by many for her delicious cookies and home-made pies.
Her employment included several years at Jaydon in Milan and then later at CVS also in Milan as a pharmacy technician. Joyce genuinely cared for others and enjoyed helping in any way she could.
The Grandchildren brought extra joy and she loved attending their events and spending time with them. Later in years, the great grandchildren enjoyed cookies, puzzles & story time with her.
Many of Joyce's fondest memories were spent at River of Lakes, in Bagley, WI, where she and Mardyne loved to share their cabin, her baked goods, fish fries, and a good game of cards with family and friends. Joyce was also a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan.
Joyce's life exhibited a caring and sharing nature for everyone she met. She longed for the hours she could spend caring for her yard and garden with Mardyne.
She is survived by her children: Joydene Koresko and (the late Don Koresko), of Edgington, IL, Mark (Jackie) Davis, of Milan, IL, and Keith (Karen) Davis, of Flower Mound, Texas; grandchildren: Nick (Amber)Davis, Lindsay (Josh) Fuhr, Drew (Brittany) Davis, Ryan (Megan) Koresko, Alex (Sarah) Davis and Payton Davis; great-grandchildren: Josephine, Jackson and Juliette Davis, Judge and Jett Fuhr, Elsie and Keegan Koresko, and Myles Davis; one sister, Joanne (Gerry) Alvin, brothers Kenny (Regina)Hoffman, Larry (Sherri) Hoffman and John (Cindy) Hoffman, and sister-in-law Molly Cook.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, Mardyne Davis, son-in-law, Don Koresko, and infant grandson Kevin Koresko.
