Judy K Adams

Judy K. Adams, 77, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in care of Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.

Judy was born November 2, 1946, in Rock Island, IL, to Charles R and Ruth (Kerres) Blancke. She graduated from Alleman High School in 1964. Judy married Donald L Adams, they loved to travel and attend their grandchildren’s events. While working full-time, she found time to volunteer; coaching softball, being the Den Mother for Cub Scouts, was a member of the Friends of the Rock Island Library and was instrumental in the success of the Bookstore located at the Library on 30th Street in Rock Island. Once retired, she helped her sister with her flower shop and made it her mission to ensure every animal that wandered into her yard was fed.  She took in several strays over the years, both animals and people. Judy had a huge and giving heart, she donated to several local and national charities. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Robert and Angie (Spouse) Bowers, Sherrard, IL, Theresa Bowers, Christopher Bowers, and Zachary Bowers, all of Rock Island; grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Erika, Drake, Nathan, and Dag; several great grandchildren; sister, Sally Mcgee, Bettendorf, IA; brother, Tim Blancke, Milan, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her adoring husband, Donald; her beloved grandson, Dain; and former husband, Burhl Bowers.
