Karen "Kay" Lingafelter, 85, of Milan, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 pm on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, followed by a gathering celebrating her life at Kavanaugh's Hilltop, 1228 30th Street, Rock Island. Per Kay's wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa for scientific research. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Kay was born on November 26, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Davenport High School. Kay married Michael D. Lingafelter on June 5, 1964, and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2016. She retired as a secretary from the Rock Island School district and was later part owner of Big Mike's Inc. Bar, in Rock Island. Kay's hobbies included golfing, tending to her plants, and hanging out with friends.

Those left to cherish Kay's memory include her children, Hiedi Goodnight, Michael J. Lingafelter, and David B. Lingafelter; grandchildren, David J., Heather, Jaidyn, Blaine, Dawsyn, Wendy, Michelle, and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Brynleigh, Gary, Jaxson, Austin, William, Samantha, Crysania, Jolene, Kloey, and Keilsie; great-great-grandchildren, Oliver, Eileanor, and Aeralyn; and sister, Donna Dittmer.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Michael "Big Mike" Lingafelter; mother, LaVerne Milligan; and son, James Lingafelter.
