Karl R. Binder

Karl R. Binder, 57, of Milan, Ill., passed away Thursday July 8, 2021 at Mercer Manor, Aledo. 

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 12, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, at the funeral home. The funeral service will be live-streamed and may be viewed at wheelanpressly.com/live-stream-Milan. Burial will be at Illinois City Cemetery, Illinois City. Memorials may be made to the family. 

Karl was born October 31, 1963 in Rock Island, the son of Frederich and Juanita Whitmire Binder. Karl was a home improvement contractor for Durham Remodeling for many years. 

He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman. He loved music and visiting the casinos. Some of his favorite times were those spent with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. 

Surviving are his daughters, Taylor Binder, Athens, Ga. and Madison Binder, Milan; life-partner, Candace Smith, Milan; stepdaughters, Jessica Olds, Viola and Jennifer Olds, Milan; stepson, Jerry Bleyaert, Jr., Milan; grandchildren, Kynzlee Skiles, Landyn Willis and Mylah Minear; mother, Juanita King, Taylor Ridge, Ill.; sisters, Sue (Don) Mason, Colona, Ill., Karen Whitmire, Moline, Ill., Jenese Ragsdale, Hoxie, Ark., and Cynthia (Larry) Pierce, Rock Island; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and other family. 

Karl was preceded in death by his grandparents; father; stepfather, Arnie King; and his nephew, Scott Whitmire.
