Kenneth Huntley Obituary

Kenneth L. Huntley, 82, of Andalusia, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no services or visitation. Burial will be at Andalusia Cemetery, Andalusia.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan is assisting the family with the arrangements. In his honor, memorials may be made to the Andalusia Cemetery Association.

He was born January 5, 1939 in Rock Island, the third of three children born to Rollin & Elsie Nelson Huntley.

He attended Rock Island Senior High School, Rock Island.  

He married Karen Louise Kaar on June 13, 1959 in Rock Island.

He worked for John Deere Seeding Division, Moline from 1969 to his retirement in 1998.

He enjoyed fishing, archery and working in his greenhouse and garden.  For years, he and his wife were active in pistol/rifle competitions and later became involved in archery competitions.  He has been a member of the National Rifle Association, National Field Archery Association (NFAA), International Bowhunters Association, Illinois Archery Association and Davenport Valley Archers.  He was a certified NFAA archery instructor.  He served in the Illinois Army National Guard from 1955 through 1964.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Karen, Andalusia; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Pam Huntley, Moline; grandchildren and spouses, David (Lisa) Huntley, Moline and Christine Huntley, Andalusia; brother, Delbert (Sallie) Huntley, Rock Island; numerous, nieces, nephews and friends; and special feline children Simba and Nala.  He was preceded in death by his mother, father, son, Jerry; an infant sister, Evelyn, and grandparents.
