LaVerne Hayes

LaVerne Hayes, 61, of Rock Island passed away at Centennial Rehabilitation in Moline on Friday, February 12th, 2021.  

A private livestreamed memorial service will be 2:00pm Saturday February 27, 2021 and may be viewed at https://www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream. Public visitation will be 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Capacity limitations will be monitored and face masks and social distancing will be required.

She was born in Rock Island to John and Nellie Hayes on October 9th, 1959.  She had been employed at the Isle of Capri as a housekeeper for over 20 years. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and listening to music.

She is survived by her children: Tiffany, LaKeisha, and Ralph (Brittany) Hayes; grandchildren: Travonte Hayes, Jacques Hayes, Jalon Jones, Lezerek Macon Jr., Cliff Sims Jr., Jawaun Hayes, Paris Hollingshed Jr., Taliya Hayes, Ralph Hayes Jr., Reese Hayes, Braylon Hayes, Ciera Hayes, Caliyah Hayes, Layla Hayes; great grandchildren, Tristan Hayes, Tramere Hayes, Reyna Hayes; and siblings: Jerry (Linda) Hayes, Johnny (Doris) Hayes, Billy (Sylvia) Hayes, Guy Hayes, and Larry Hayes.   

 She is preceded in passing by her parents and sisters: Pearlie, Jillanne, Betty Sue, and Toni.
