Linda Anderson Obituary

Linda A. Anderson, 63, of Andalusia passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 am on Thursday at church. Private burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be left in care of Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Linda was born on February 5, 1961 in Aledo, IL, the oldest child of Curtis and Mardelle (Braucht) Morrow. She grew up in Andalusia, IL. She met the love of her life, Mitchel “Mitch” Anderson after high school, and they were married on August 29, 1981. Linda was a dedicated military wife, moving a total of 13 times, including two tours in Germany, and always keeping the house in order. She mainly stayed home to help raise their three daughters, who are all within four years of each other. Linda could always be found out and about supporting her daughters, whether it be volunteering at their schools or attending their school, sports, and various club activities.

Linda was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1987. Despite her diagnosis, she never let it bring her down and always had a smile that would light up the whole room. Linda left a lasting impression on all those that she met over the years and was an inspiration to many.

Linda’s greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for her seven grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed attending Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church and hosting craft club at her house. Linda enjoyed watching sports, especially the Cubs, Bears and Hawkeyes.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Linda’s caregiver for the last 14 years, Nikki Madison, with whom she had a very close friendship.

Those left to cherish Linda’s memory include her husband of 43 years, Mitch Anderson, Andalusia; daughters, April (Jordan) DeGroot, Andalusia, Amber Marlow, Bettendorf and Andrea (David) Wanek, Andalusia; grandchildren, Autumn, Everett, Marty, Nolan, Adaline, Sonora and Ayla; parents, Curtis and Mardelle Morrow; sister, Karen (Greg) Anderson; brother, Jay (Wendy) Morrow; brother in law, Michael Anderson; and niece and nephews, Tami Tweet, Eric Anderson and Matthew, Joshua and Joseph Morrow.

She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
