Louise Tyler Obituary

Louise W. Tyler, 101, of Rock Island, died Thursday, August 11, 2022 at home surrounded by family.  Louise was born in Douglasville, Ga. on June 19, 1921, a daughter of Jerome and Mary Cathrine Aderhold Wilson.  She married Leo Tyler on April 9, 1943 in Las Vegas.

Louise worked as a hostess for The Sheridan, Marandos, and Bennigans for 40 years.  Louise spent 15 years as a volunteer for Franciscan Hospital finally retiring at age 83.

Louise loved to read, watch westerns and “The Wheel of Fortune” on TV, entertain her neighbors in her “party room” in her garage with a glass of wine, visit an occasional casino, and most of all loved spending time with family and friends.  Louise enjoyed many years of gardening (flowers and vegetables), canning, and cooking and fishing.  Louise leaves many great memories for the people who knew her.  She loved her family and counted her blessings every day. She will be dearly missed by all but never forgotten!

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael (Donna) Tyler, Ridgecrest, Calif., Stephen (Sandy) Tyler, Mt. Pleasant, WI and Peter (Diane) Tyler, Rock Island, Ill.; grandchildren, Tammy, Katie, David, Ryan, Lacey, Lisa, Michael and Kelly; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Harold Wilson, Charles Wilson, Mosele Green, Madge Vansant, Monteen Whitmore and Francis Baxley.
