Marilyn K. (Maynard) Sieben

                Marilyn K. Sieben, 73, of Rock Island, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.   

                Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at First Lutheran Church, Moline.  Private entombment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. 

                Marilyn was born on August 8, 1948 in Milan, IL, the daughter of Robert and Charlotte (Hartman) Maynard.  She was a lifelong educator, dedicated to her students from middle school to adult English language learners. Her teaching career included time at J.D. Darnall High School, Rock Island High School, Edison Junior High School, and Black Hawk College.  Marilyn’s greatest joy was her family.  She loved being a sister, cousin, aunt, mother, and grandmother.   She also was devoted to her many long-time friendships.

                Marilyn is survived by her children, Angie (Chris) Naylor and Whit (Debra) Sieben; grandchildren, Cecelia, Eliot, and Audrey Naylor, Elliana, Gracen, Everett, and Faith Sieben; and brothers, Scott and Mitch Maynard and their families.   She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Raymond Maynard.  Marilyn is a beloved child of God, and we will meet her again in heaven.
