Marjorie A. Dirck

Marjorie A. Dirck, 89, Milan, IL passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Summit of Bettendorf. There will be a visitation from 10-11:00 AM with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Burial at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials can be made to Youth Hope or Wellsprings of Freedom.

Marjorie was born on November 25, 1933, to Keith and Lela (Bridges) Reason in Keithsburg, IL. After graduating high school, she attended Business School at Western. On June 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to Donald Dirck. The couple made their home in Milan where they raised their three sons.

Marjorie was a dedicated homemaker who was an excellent cook and talented seamstress who sewed many outfits for her children and other family. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts and also taught Sunday School. She and Don were active members of Heritage Church, Rock Island and traveled the world doing missionary work for over 20 years.

Marjorie was described as a “fashion icon” who was always dressed to the nines and loved to decorate, especially enjoying making the table center pieces at Crosstown where she was a hostess for several years.

Marjorie is survived by her sons, Keith (Kim) Dirck, Kent (Sophina) Dirck, Kerry Dirck; sister, Shirley Benson; as well as 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), all of whom she prayed for by name every night.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and grandson, Danny.
