Mary Jane Zahringer, 87, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, February 13th, 2018 at Genesis Medical Center in Silvis with her family by her side.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 30th from 12pm to 1pm at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, a prayer service will follow at 1 pm. A luncheon will be held for family and friends immediately after the service at the St Ambrose Parish Center, Milan. Private inurnment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline.
Mary Mountain was born in Rock Island, on September 30th, 1930, a daughter of Cloyce and Fern Miller Mountain. She grew up in Moline, attended Moline High School and played trombone in the Marching Band. She excelled in gymnastics at the Moline Turners. Mary married Calvin Zahringer on November, 24th, 1956 and lived and raised their sons Darrin and Alan Zahringer in Rock Island. Mary owned and operated Johnson’s Bakery in Moline. She lived in Texas and Florida before retiring in Moline.
Her survivors include children, Darrin (Joddi), Davenport, Alan (Lori), Moline; her grandchildren, Nathan (Patricia), Rachel, Stephanie, Darrick, Betsy and Ally Zahringer; her great grandchildren, Lukas, Adrianna, Myles and Liam Zahringer; her sisters, Judy (Ronald) Zimmerman and Maxine Layer. She was preceded in death by her father, Cloyce Mountain and mother, Fern Miller Mountain; her bothers, Jake Mountain and Bob Mountain; her sisters, Beatrice Petersen and Loretta Diehl .
