Mary Lou Lyle, 90, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Silver Cross Nursing at Friendship Manor, Rock Island. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island.
Mary Lou was born on June 1, 1931 in East Moline, a daughter of Henry and Marie (Cauwels) Nagel. She graduated from the Immaculate Conception Academy in Davenport and married Jack H. Lyle on June 12, 1954 in East Moline.
Mary Lou was a loving housewife and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish Mary Lou’s memory include her children (and spouses), Diana (George) Raftery, Davenport, Chris (Debbie) Lyle, Rock Island, Susan (Jeff) Viviani-Eirinberg, Rock Island, Mary Ann Lyle, Rock Island, Joseph Lyle, Chandler, Ariz., and Terese (Todd) Anderson, Algonquin, Ill.; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and sisters, Lorette and Lorraine.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents; and siblings, Agnes and Henry.
