Michael E. Imig

Michael "Mike" Imig, 69, of Moline, passed away unexpectedly Thursday December 22, 2016 at UPH Trinity, Moline.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday December 28, 2016 at First Church of the Nazarene, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral home, Rock Island. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be left to First Church of the Nazarene.

Mike was born on April 11, 1947 in Rock Island, the son of Ernest and Beverly (Cornelius) Imig. He married Bonnie Twitty on August 16, 1969 in Rock Island. Mike  graduated from Rock Island High School, Blackhawk College and later from Augustana College.

He was employed by JI Case for 43 years working at the plants in Rock Island, Burlington, East Moline and finally in Mt. Joy as a Engineering Service Specialist.

Mike was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He was known for his gentle demeanor, amusing humor, vast knowledge of cars, history, music, and sports. He was an avid sports fan and was crazy about his Manchester United soccer team. Despite his many interests, his family was his first priority. He will be remembered as being a loyal husband, loving father, and proud grandpa.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; daughters, Heather (Jacob) Barlow, California, Emily (Mark) Hotchkiss, Moline, Amanda (Burnell) Eckardt, Moline, Michelle Imig, Colorado; grandchildren, Nadia, Nick, Bevy and Millie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
