Myron A. Sergeant

Myron A. Sergeant, 89, of Milan, IL, passed away Sunday April 25, 2021 at home.
Private graveside services, with military honors presented by Moline American Legion, Post 246, will be Thursday, April 29, at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan is assisting with arrangements.
Myron was born July 9, 1931 in Walnut, Illinois, the son of Charles and Maida Robinson Sergeant. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was previously married to Velma Rieker O'Bid. Myron was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 25, Rock Island, for 34 years. Myron was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed bowling, collecting flashlights and fishing reels, and loved dancing.
Surviving are his life companion, Mary Young, Milan; sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen (Brenda) Sergeant, Clifton, TX, Lawrence Sergeant, Denton, TX, and Charles (Karen) Sergeant, Milan; grandchildren, Kari Stewart, Scott Sergeant, Cody Sergeant, Bradley (Cristina) Whitcomb, Cortney (Chuck) Leuth, and Zoey Sergeant; and nine great grandchildren.
Myron was preceded in death by his parents; sister Joanne and her husband, Guy Garrison; and niece, Anne Garrison.
