Pamela Diane Damewood, 73, Lakeland, FL formerly of the Quad Cities, passed away in a car accident on May 30, 2024 in Lakeland. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. with a funeral following at 11 a.m on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Burial at Preemption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in memory of Pamela Damewood to the Lakeland Fire Department, 701 E. Main Street Lakeland, FL 33801.
Pam was born October 13, 1950 to Robert and Etta (Moore) Wolfe in Iowa City, IA. She grew up in West Branch, IA where she graduated high school. She later earned an Associate's Degree from Blackhawk College.
On December 16, 1977 she married Ronald Damewood who she met while working at Tri City Heat Treat, the company he would later own. They were married for 40 years. The couple lived in Coal Valley, Illinois from 1977 – 1990, then moved to Bettendorf, Iowa from 1990 – 2006. In 2006, they moved to Lakeland, Florida to enjoy retirement.
Pam had a very distinguished career as a purchasing manager for various companies including Adel Wholesalers, and Ryan & Associates where she was employed until her retirement.
Throughout her life Pam loved bowling, camping, horseback riding, sewing, shopping, and playing slots at the casinos in the QCA area. Pam loved to travel to Disney World each year with her family. Pam and Ron traveled to Tennessee, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, and London together. She just went on a trip with her grandchildren, Kaden and Ella, to the Netherlands and Germany.
During retirement, Pam was the president of her subdivision's HOA where she worked with the city of Lakeland to get a fire station nearby built. She also enjoyed hosting cards and Mahjong at her house with her neighborhood friends. Pam loved to experience different restaurants and tea rooms with her friends. Many families and friends appreciated her talents in quilting and ceramics.
Pam loved being with family. She was the strongest, sweetest, most lovable and generous person you would ever meet. She always enjoyed going on trips with her daughters, daughters-in-laws, sisters and nieces to share many laughs that sometimes-included dancing. Pam was such a proud Nana who cherished every moment with her grandchildren.
Pam is survived by her daughters, Stacy (Kale) Steffen and Candice (Leon) Key; stepsons, Ronald Jr. (Faith), Christopher (Linda), Mark (Connie), Randall (Laura), Matt (Christine), Chad (Susan) Damewood; siblings, Bill (Ginny) Wolfe, Cheryl Wolfe, Tina Wolfe, Nancy Petersen; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pam had innumerable close friends that she considers as close as family, most notably Bud and Marsha Walters and their daughters Susie and Amy Sletten as well as Brandi and Kent Houzenga. They were with her through both the joys and sorrows of life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ron; and brother, Tim Wolfe.
Pam wanted it to be noted, "I enjoyed my grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Kaden, Ella, and Wyatt were my sunrise, rainbows, and stars in the sky."
