Patricia A. (Wedekind) Sterner

                Patricia A. Sterner, 85, of Davenport, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at Genesis East, Davenport. 

                Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.  Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.   

                Patricia was born on August 12, 1936 in Muscatine, IA, the daughter of Johnny and Pearl (Bieri) Wedekind. She worked as a clerk at Walgreens for many years, where she enjoyed being a friendly, familiar face to her customers.

             Patricia loved listening to George Strait, watching baseball, football and college basketball, and spending time with her daughter and family. One of her happiest memories was traveling to California to see her grandson get married and to visit Disneyland with her family.

           When she was at home, she loved nothing more than watching pictures sent to digital picture frame—especially pictures of her newest great-grandson. She was always proud to share which one would be displayed next and which pictures were her favorites. She loved being known as “Grandma Pat”. 

                Patricia is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Jerry) Waite, 2 other daughters, and one son; grandchildren, Danny (Justine) Waite, Nicole Waite, Doug (Betsy) Waite, Mike Waite, 2 other grandsons and 1 granddaughter; great grandchildren, Jackson, Caroline, Cameron, and 2 other great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jim and Leo; and sisters, Barbara, Betty, and Mary Lou.
