Ray Torri, 84, of Rock Island died Saturday, January 16, 2021.
Services will be held at 10:30am Thursday January 21, 2021 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 9:30 to service time at church. Attendees are required to wear a mask and observe social distancing. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Ray was born on September 29, 1936 in Joliet, IL, the son of Alfiera (Mazza) and Mario Torri. He went to Sacred Heart grade school and graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1955.
He enlisted in the Army in June of 1957. After serving for two years in the Army, he went to work for the telephone company and then on to Hockenburg Rubin Food Brokers in 1965 until his retirement at age 62. He enjoyed go to the gym, having coffee with the guys at Panera every Friday morning and playing Euchre with friends and family.
His parents preceded him in death, along with his brother, Norbert and sister in law, Anne.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Janet from Caledonia, MI, Patty from Channahon, IL and Sharon from Rock Island; two grandsons, James and Glenn from Channahon, IL, along with many nieces and nephews.
