Robert L. Pannell

Robert L. Pannell, 87, of East Moline, died Friday, February 19, 2021 at his home.  A public visitation will be from 10 – 12 (Noon) on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan.  Capacity limitations will be monitored and face masks and social distancing will be required.  A private burial will take place at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.  Memorials may be made in care of the Animal Aid Humane Society, 239 50th Street, Moline, Ill. 61265.

Robert was born November 5, 1933 in Keokuk, Iowa, growing up in Milan, IL, son of Robert W. and Merle Nye Pannell.  He married Donna Palmer with whom he had five children.

Robert was a plasterer in his early years.  He retired from IH Farmall Works, Rock Island, after 26 years of service.

Robert was an avid golfer and fisherman.  He enjoyed living over 50 years on the Mississippi.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Robin (Jeff) Dennison, Milan, Wendy (Larry) Coyne, Milan, Michael (Peggy) Pannell, Moline, Mitchell (Xochi) Pannell, Moline and David (Winna) Pannell, Milan; grandchildren, Heather (Ron) Eyssi, Lindsay (Joe) Allcock, Brandon (Stephanie) Pannell, Brad Pannell, Christy (Todd) Hansen, Emilie (Steve) Pinkston and Brittany Pannell; great-grandchildren, Dacoda, Caitlyn, Jazmin, Taylor, Addison, Easton, Kane, Karson, Kolton, Sam, Henry and Elliott; sister, Sally Bleyaert, Fort Myers, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Johnny, Julie and Jody and Families; and his K-9 companion, George.

He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew, Jerry Bleyaert and brother-in-law, John Bleyaert.
