Obituary

Sandra Ann Moseley of Davenport, Iowa passed away on September 1 at the age of 86.

Visitation open house will be Tuesday September 10, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Wheelan-Presley Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. A Catholic funeral mass will be held 10:30 AM at St. Ambrose, Milan, IL, Wednesday September 11, 2024 with burial at St. John's cemetery in Viola immediately following.

Sandy was born in Newton, Iowa on March 23, 1938 to William and Rosalie (Reynolds) Williams. She was a graduate of Rock Island High School class of 1957. She was married in 1961 to the love of her life, Cletus Moseley, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Moline, Illinois, and they spent 63 wonderful years together.

Sandy was employed at John Deere and Company for over 22 years, where she met her lifelong "froggy" friends: Stella, Jan, Judy and Joyce.

Sandy was a member of several organizations throughout her life including Bible Study fellowship (12+ years), CASI, and she was a long time member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Davenport, IA. Although she had many hobbies, tole painting was by far her favorite and she took many classes to perfect her craft.

Throughout her life Sandy was an active volunteer teaching CCD classes for many years and volunteering at her children's schools and their many activities. Sandy's light shone in her volunteer work for the Befrienders at Genesis Hospital, and she never missed an opportunity to lend a hand to help care for friends or family members.

Sandy was also a great believer in giving back, and was a long-time contributor to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Wounded Warriors, The Parkinson's Foundation, and numerous other organizations.

Sandy would say her highest accomplishment was her family, but her greatest relationship was with God. She approached everything through the eyes of faith and she lived according to His word. Sandy found great comfort in prayer.

Sandy will be remembered for her kindness, her compassion, her intelligence, her quick wit, her lively sense of humor, and her joy for God and family.

She is survived by her loving husband of the home, Cletus. Her children: Stephen (Brenda), Theresa, and Joseph (Michelle). Sandy was blessed with six grandsons, two granddaughters, two great granddaughters, and a great grandson. She is also survived by her best friend and dear sister Verneal Danforth (Pat), her brother Dennis Williams (Donna), and special friends Silvia and Celia.

She is preceded in death by her beloved grandson Stephen D. Moseley Jr.; her son-in-law Randy, her parents Bill and Rose Williams, her brothers Richard and Roger Williams, and her sister Cheryl Davidson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sandy's name can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Please read Psalm 139 for comfort , Sandy's favorite .
