Scott “Fred” Bjurstrom

Scott “Fred” Bjurstrom, 56, of East Moline, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at First Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in Fred’s memory.

Fred was born January 29, 1967, in Springfield, IL, the son of Ronald and Linda (Shores) Bjurstrom. He graduated from Moline High School in 1986 and attended Wyoming Technical Institute from 1986 to 1988.

Fred was a diesel mechanic for 30 years, working at various places. In 2020, he started Vision Lawn Care and Maintenance, which he was very proud of. In his early years, Fred enjoyed racing motorcycles. He also enjoyed cooking. Above all, Fred was a caring and loving person.

Survivors include his daughter, Samantha (Randy) Abrahamsen, Pleasant Valley; mother, Linda Bjurstrom, East Moline; sister, Sue LeGros, East Moline; nephew, Brad (Angie) Parker, Romeoville; niece, Katie (Ken) LeGros, East Moline; great-niece, Charlotte Parker; and many special cousins.

Fred was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Bjurstrom.
