Obituary

Sherry Kay Hambelton (Beasley), 81, of Overlook Village in Moline, IL passed from this earth peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Silver Cross Nursing Home after an extended series of illnesses cared for by a group of very caring wonderful nurses.

She was born on February 9, 1942 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Ellen (Mullinax) and Earl F. Beasley II.

Sherry was a unique personality who believed in a higher being, aliens, loved big Cities especially New York, Las Vegas and exciting lights, scary movies and “Making America Great Again” and her hero Donald J. Trump. Her only regret was sad at not being around to vote for him again. She was a TRUE fan. She also was a proud Union worker and ran a break at the International Harvester Combine Plant in East Moline for 27 years. Following retirement, she was not done yet and wanted to something of her own. She seen an ad in the newspaper that read “BIG money in quarters”. She answered the ad, and the rest is history. She started her own gaming business with just 3 candy cranes. Her husband gave her the money to get started and supported and encouraged her in her venture. She so loved cars and had many in her day. She missed driving after her accident and never got over losing the privilege of driving herself. She was a hard worker and achieved so much in her short time here. She also loved her family dearly and missed those that had gone before and lived life to the fullest, HER WAY!

It is Sherry’s wishes to be cremated and have a Celebration of Life on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 1PM at Overlook Village-941 6th Street in Moline, IL where she was a resident for 3.5 years. Following the memorial service light hors d’oeuvres will be served and its Sherry’s wish we share stories about her, have a good time and especially, laugh! Don’t be sad, she’s off on a new adventure and spending time with all those lost loved ones so come celebrate her life!
