Subrena was born on October 11, 1965 in Davenport, Iowa, a daughter of Dwight T. and Geraldine (Shinn) Smith. Subrena was a homemaker and a great singer. Everyone loved her voice and in her younger years was involved in many choirs. Earlier she had worked as a nanny on the east coast. She had a great love of anything floral and was the owner of the former Jardiniere Flower Shop, Aledo. One of Subrena’s greatest talents was cooking, she insisted on feeding everyone around her and no one ever complained because it was from her heart and always delicious. She loved anything pink and blingy, the Victorian era, spending time with her family, and most of all being a grandma.
Survivors include her parents, Dwight, Orion and Geraldine, Aledo; children, Ian Hunter, Sherrard, Katelynn Hunter, Decatur, IL, and Diana Smith, Edgewater, FL.; grandson, Carter Hunter-Wakeland; siblings, Korena Paschal, Davenport, Winona Smith, Orion, Anthony Smith, Oskaloosa, IA., Dwight T. Smith, Jr., Gerald Dean Smith, Rushville, IL., Ivan Smith, Davenport, Kenny Smith, Portland, OR., and George Smith, Traskwood, AZ; and her companion of recent years, Bob Longshore, Alpha.
