Theodore "Ted" Handley, 76, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday March 6, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.

Visitation will be Monday March 11, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Rock Island National Cemetery, those wishing to attend should meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family.

Ted was born on October 24, 1947 in Rock Island, the son of Edward and Florence (Crosby) Handley Sr. He married Michele "Mickee" Klingaman on November 3, 1984. Ted was a United States Navy Veteran having served during Vietnam war as a Hull Technician aboard the USS Jason

Ted had been employed on the Rock Island Arsenal as a security guard and later as a welder, he later was employed at Friendship Manor as a security officer and bus driver. He later retired from the Rock Island Casino where he worked as a surveillance officer and later blackjack dealer.

Ted loved driving through Sunset Park, spending time with his family, camping and enjoyed collecting antique cigarette lighters.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mickee; children, Stuart Handley, Cyndi Handley; Michele's daughters, Darcey Sebolt and Marley Nerhus; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Leonard (Cyndi Handley and Kenneth Handley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Edward Handley Jr.
