Obituary
Thomas Edward Herring, 64, Moline, IL passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at his home. No services are planned at this time.
He was born on May 15, 1958 in Janesville, WI to Donald and Norma Jean (Johnson) Herring. Tom grew up in Alpha, IL and graduated from Alwood High School in 1976. After graduation, Tom started his career at Norcross Safety Products. Known as “Big Tom” amongst his coworkers, held several positions at the company during the 30 years he was there before his retirement.
Tom enjoyed wood working and going to yard sales. His favorite thing to do, though, was spend as much time as he could with his grandkids. He will be remembered fondly for all the corny “dad jokes” he used to tell.
He is survived by his children, Brianna Skovronski and Lucas Herring; grandchildren, Cambrie and Kade Castaneda; sisters, Carol “Jeannie” Herring Webb, Renee Lewis, and Donna Fairbrother.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
