Virginia Mae Hofmann, 96, of Andalusia, passed from this life and was escorted into the presence of Jesus Christ on Monday, November 6, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan. The service will be live-streamed and can be accessed by visiting the following link: https://www.wheelanpressly.com/milan-live-stream. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Andalusia Community Baptist Church.
Virginia was born May 8, 1927, to Craig and Mona Noble in New Boston, Illinois. She was married to George J. Hofmann Jr. on October 6, 1945. Together they had six children: Carol (Bill) Gluck of Andalusia, IL, Vernon (Sandralee) Hofmann of Illinois City, IL, Sandy Hofmann of Andalusia, IL, Tom (Cookie) Hofmann of Aledo, IL, Ron (Donna) Hofmann of Andalusia, IL, and Jane (Dick) Althoff of Aledo, IL. Her hobbies were dancing, playing cards, quilting, and ceramics. She had 17 grandchildren, and many, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and her greatest delights were the time she spent with them.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, George; her daughter, Carol; her son, Ronnie (or Arnie), a daughter-in-law, Sandralee; a son-in-law, Dick; and her sister, Beatrice.
