William “Bill” King Little, 87, of Rock Island, passed Monday, August 28, 2023.

Private services were held at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Burial was in Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, where Bill and Betty adopted their beloved pets.

Bill was born November 13, 1935 in Saranac Lake, NY to Marshall G and Winifred K Little. He graduated from Franklin Academy High School in Malone, NY in June 1954 and completed two years of college studies while in the Air Force.

Bill served 20 years in the Air Force. He enlisted in July 1954 and retired on Aug 1, 1974. He earned several medals for his dedicated service, including the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service, the Air Force Commendation, and the Vietnam Service medals.

After retiring from the miliary, Bill worked as a Legal Administrator, first for a law firm in Charleston. WV, and later for Katz, McAndrews, Durkee & Telleen in Rock Island, IL.

Bill married Betty Karino on July 15, 1957 at the American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. They returned to the U.S. and raised two children, Dorothy and Marshall. Betty preceded Bill in death in January 2021 after 64 years of marriage.

Bill was an avid golfer who achieved six holes-in-one during his lifetime. He was also a lifetime fan of the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers.

Memberships: KAABA Shrine, Scottish Rite Valley of Moline, Trio Lodge 57 AF&AM, and Air Force Sergeants Association.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sister. He is survived by his children, Dorothy Brooks (Tim) and Marshall Little (Rhonda), and his four grandchildren, Steve Osborne (Sheena), Brent Osborne (Sadie), Samantha Gaten, and Minao Little.
