Georgia M. (Hall) Kerr

Georgia M. Kerr, 74, of Rock Island, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at her home.  Funeral services will be 11:00am on Friday at Second Baptist Church, Rock Island.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at church.  Burial will take place in Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family with arrangements.

Georgia was born on August 16, 1941 in Missouri, a daughter of the late Enoch C. and Hygine Hayes Hall.  She married James H. Kerr, Sr. on February 27, 1960 in the Quad Cities.  Georgia worked for many years as a teacher's aide in the Rock Island School District, mainly at Grant Elementary. 

Georgia was a member of Second Baptist Church, Rock Island.  She took great pride in caring for her husband and children.  She enjoyed sewing and playing cards with family and friends. 

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James H. Kerr, Sr.; children, Joanie (Van) Johnson, James H., Jr. (Elizabeth) Kerr and Jerome Kerr, all of Rock Island; grandchildren, Desirae Johnson and Paris Kerr; great grandson, Dezmund Jackson; brothers, Sylvester (Elouise) Hall, E. Moline and Russell (Stephanie) Hall, Rock Island; a sister, Geneva Hall, E. Moline and a special cousin, Opal "Quilla" Harrington.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and 3 brothers: James and Melvin Hall and a brother in infancy.
