John Patrick Langdon

John P. Langdon, 86, of Rock Island, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.  Cremation rites have been accorded and family graveside services will be held October 4th at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made in care of the family for a charity to be designated later.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

John Patrick Langdon was born on November 18, 1929 in Davenport, Iowa, the youngest son of James C. and Eudora (Farley) Langdon.  He married Kathleen Audrey Gray on May 28, 1949 in Rock Island.  She passed away on March 1, 1995.  John was an assembler at Farmall for over 35 years.  After his retirement, he was a greenskeeper at the  Arsenal Golf Course until age 80.  John was well known for his years of bartending at the Corner Tap.

John was an avid Notre Dame football fan.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, R.W. (Lynn) Langdon, Moline and Michael F. (Sao "Patti") Langdon, Atlanta, GA; daughters, Joanna Sergeant, Rock Island and Vicki (Charles) Keller, Cornell, WI; grandchildren, John, Lucas, Ali, Katie, Cortney, Zoey, Kathleen and Steven; 13 great grandchildren; a sister in law and close friend, Mary Ellen Hodson; special friend and neighbor, Mike Heber.  John also loved his dog, Sheeva

John was preceded in death by his wife; son, Richard; granddaughter, Nichole, his parents and all 8 of his siblings.
