 Glenn R. "Rick" Powell, 71, of Milan, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at UnityPoint, Trinity, Rock Island.

 Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m.  Sunday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, with visitation 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date. Following the services Sunday at the funeral home, there will be a Celebration of Life gathering for family and friends at the Camden Center, 2701 1st Street E., Milan. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

 Rick was born March 23, 1945 in Muscatine, Iowa, a son of Sherman and Lorraine (Brunson) Powell. He married Sherry L. Quist on June 26, 1965 in Reynolds, IL.

 Rick farmed on the family farm for over 50 years, and he also worked at John Deere, Plow Planter Works for 20 years.

 He was a member of the U.A.W., N.R.A., Arbor Day Foundation and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Rick was an avid collector of John Deere  tractors and memorabilia, John Wayne memorabilia and antiques. He enjoyed country music and spending time with friends and family, especially his children and grandchildren. He loved animals and caring for his dogs.

 Surviving are his wife, Sherry, of Milan; children (and spouses), Rick (Sherri) Powell, Moline, Scott (Penny) Powell, Milan, and Andy (Kelly) Powell, Moline; grandchildren, Heather Powell, Lacey (Bryan) Thirtyacre, Cole Powell (Amanda Weikert), Lauren Powell (Nick Rade), Gage, Ryan and Emery Powell; step grandchildren, Jackie and Courtney Moen; great grandchildren, Hunter Brundage and Oaklee Thirtyacre; mother-in-law, Betty Quist, Milan; brothers and sisters, Sherman (Sherry) Powell, Rock Island, Harold (Donna) Powell, Taylor Ridge, Joette Heymann, Aledo, Louis (Sandy) Powell, Aledo, Diane Martin Powell, Rock Island, Maggie (Gary) Oakland, Port Byron, and Debbie (Don) Bowen, Aledo; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Richard Quist; and his beloved dog, Jack.
