My acquaintance with Joan was through our Parish, St. Ambrose, and by way of the Milan Christian Food Pantry. Althlough our acquaintance has been for only a little over a year, I have felt a strong spiritual connection and sense of respect to Joan, and especially so after her husband, Frank, passed over last year. I miss her presence already, and share with all of you, our loss of such a 'Great Lady' among us, but my memory of her spiritual strength will prevail over my sadness for our loss.
Joan, I am glad to have known you in that short time in my elder years. Carry on, Great Lady.
Lord, Jesus Christ, I pray you wrap your arm around her and welcome her to Jerusalem. Amen.
