Message from Trinity Christian College
May 30, 2017 6:39 PM

On behalf of the Trinity Christian College community, we express our sympathies to Scott's family. Dr. Bill Van Groningen, Chaplain at the college shares these memories of Scott while he was a student:
"I met Scott in my Spiritual Formation class. He was the kind of student who quickly volunteered to offer a comment, he was the first to give a testimony, lead in prayer, etc. And in each case, he set a high standard of excellence. His participation was always spiritually authentic, vigorous, and passionately real. The spiritual vitality and growth that we enjoyed together in that class had a lot to do with Scott’s spirit and presence among us. When I reflect on him and our time together in class, I am reminded of Romans 1:16a … “For I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith.”"

Grace & Peace

My deepest condolences to the whole Anderson family and to Rachel. You have all been in my prayers these past few days. I was so deeply saddened to hear about your loss. We can only be consoled by the fact that Scott knew Jesus as his Lord and savior and we will see him again in paradise. None of us know how many days we will have here on earth, and for those left behind it is hard to keep going. But one day soon we will all be singing praises together with no more pain or sorrow. I pray that the Lord give you comfort in this heartbreaking season.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Know that God is aware of the tears you are shedding. (Psalm 56:18) He will soon do what is said at Acts 24:15, which promises us of a resurrection of our loved ones. May that bring you hope. Take comfort in your good memories and allow your family and loving friends to help you through this difficult time.

I was always impressed by Scott's willingness to embrace life in all its forms. He made a positive difference in his own way. That is what the journey is all about. Sorry his time here had to be so short. Terry Swails

The announcement of Scott's transition to glory at this morning's church service took everyone's breath away. What a bright ray of sunshine Scott Anderson was at Harvest Bible Chapel, Chicago West. He was an effective advocate for our at-risk youth here in Chicago's Austin community. So much love radiated from Scott's spirit that our kids were naturally drawn to him. Scott generously gave of his time and talent to the benefit of others. It will be difficult to explain Scott's absence to our youth but we will remind them of Scott's testimony of triumph and perseverance over life's disappointments and challenges. Basketball drew many of the kids in but it was Scott's heart that captivated them all and kept them coming back. Scott just had a way of letting each person know that they mattered to him. We will encourage our children to honor Scott's legacy by being a walking testimony of encouragement through their actions, speech, and deeds towards others. In this way, Scott will live on in our hearts until we see him again in Heaven.

Dear Veta, Rick and brothers,
Our hearts ache for you in your loss but what joy that Scott knew Our Lord and was actually doing His work. We have many a fond memory of Scott as he was always a BIG part of Sherrard Jr/Sr High School. Loved his enthusiasm and his personality as he knew no stranger. May God grant you peace in knowing you'll once again be together.

Over the past few years I have gotten to know Scott and call him my friend and Brother in Christ. I work in the Commons at Moody and had the privilege of cooking some meals for Scott, and having some great conversations along the way. Scott got to meet my kids and was someone I could talk to about my Daughter and the medical issues she was facing. My prayers are with all that loved Scott and he will truly be missed. Until the day we see Scott again.
