Tyler as we are approaching your departure to heaven of one month it feels like an hour ago, there are no words to describe what you mean to me. I hope I showed you everyday how much you were and are a part of me, I talk to you every day and every night I tell you goodnight boo boo I love you, and I believe you hear me. It is hard to go on every day not knowing how this tragedy happened. The memory if the last words and last hug on that day play over and over in my mind as do many others. Dear father in heaven watch over Tyler John and put your loving arms around him until God willing I can. I will keep your memory alive through me and someday maybe just maybe the pain will subside. You live on in me my loving grandson. Forever in me, love and peace nana

Felicia -- I don't think you know me, but my son was in marching band with Tyler. It's true what they say, that the marching band is like one big extended family. As such, I want you to know that my heart aches for you. I have shed many tears this week, every time I think about your sweet boy, as have other parents. I first met Tyler not as a band mom, but during a Plan for Adventure (PFA) running group he attended on Sunday mornings for the past year. He was an extremely sweet boy who I admired for being so dedicated - I loved seeing him every Sunday. You have a lot to be proud of, in such a fine young man. Continue to be proud of all he accomplished and just simply for who he was and how he chose to live life. He did not waste what time on earth that he had - he was very involved, dedicated, and seemed very happy - some live their whole lives and don't accomplish that. I hope you can find a way to keep his memory alive and gain some peace, perhaps in attending some band events this coming school year. I bet he would love to see you being involved with the things that he so enjoyed being a part of. I know that I and the other parents welcome you to be involved in his name - and remember this - once a band mom, always a band mom. He will live on in spirit.

I grew up with Tyler John and his sister as kids through Just Kids daycare, junior high, and in high school. He also was in marching band and cross country with me. Tyler worked hard for all that he accomplished and he was great at it. You will certainly be missed.
