Sandy "Windy" Bray Jr., 87, of Rock Island, passed away Friday April 14, 2017 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.

Memorial visitation will be from 2-5pm Sunday April 23, 2017 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral home and Crematory, Rock Island. Graveside services will be 11am Monday in Rock Island National Cemetery, those wishing to attend should meet at Wheelan-Pressly funeral home, Rock Island at 10:30am. Memorials may be left for Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Sanford was born on July 24, 1929 in Keithsburg, the son of Sanford and Laurabelle (Watts) Bray Sr.  He married Margery R. Kerr on January 14, 1961 in Davenport. She preceded him in death in 1999.

Mr. Bray had been employed as a combine repairman and crane operator with John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, retiring in 1987.

Sanford was a World War II United States Marine Corps veteran.

He was a member of the Milan American Legion Post 569, A.M.A., United Sidecar Assoc., Mississippi Valley Vintage Race Car Assoc., IMCA Oldtimers, Vintage American Race Car Club, B.M.W. Motorcycle Owners of America, Auckland Vintage Club, New Zealand, Chief Blackhawk Antique Motocycle Club, Charter Member of Military Vehicle Preservation Assoc., Dutsche Motor Register and Life member of Tri-City Motorcycle Club.

Survivors include significant other, Phoebe VanBlaracom, Rock Island; friends, Ron(Pam) Cantabury, Milan, Bill Tuman, Muscatine, Judy Callen, Moline, Bob Skeffinton, Davenport, Matt (Marsha) Payne, Rock Island, Mickey Greene (Donna Bellinger), Rock Island, Frank (Pat) Carroll, Moline, Dan (Deneen) Hobart, Rock Island, Jay (Sharon) VanBlaracom, SC, Joy Connor, MO., JD (Judy) VanBlaracom and Kathy Good, Hamlet.
